Invoices, receipts and delivery notes for Kenyan businesses

Web App FlaskSQLitexhtml2pdfResend

The problem

Small Kenyan businesses were producing invoices and receipts with word processors or generic tools that ignore KES formatting and Kenya's 16 percent VAT, and chasing unpaid invoices meant scrolling through chats and notebooks.

What was built

A full invoicing app: client and item libraries, invoices, receipts and delivery notes, a 16 percent VAT toggle, 70 print-first templates where the screen preview matches the PDF, login with 2FA and passwordless email codes, and a dashboard showing total invoiced, paid versus outstanding, a collection rate and a chase list.

Invoicing tool for Kenyan businesses: KES, 16 percent VAT toggle, 70 print-first templates, client and item libraries, login with 2FA and passwordless codes, dashboard with collection rate and chase list.

Challenges & solutions

Print parity. The PDF engine has strict layout limits, so the 70 templates were built around safe table patterns and re-tested until what you see on screen is what comes out on paper.

Outcome

A working invoicing product for Kenyan businesses with KES and VAT handled natively, secured accounts and print-ready documents.
